This place is awesome.
They have great food and drinks and service from the bartenders.
Last night we went pretty late at night and called in advance to make sure the kitchen was still open bc we were hungryyy close to hangry.
I like how i usually see the same bartenders. It gives it a homey feel when u see the same friendly people at a local bar/restaurant.
We ordered the crunchwrap supreme, chicken wings, and salad along with pilsners. They were all very good!! My favorite were the chicken wings. The salad was more grainy than leafy which was interesting. It makes it hardier. The crunchwrap supreme was pretty good as well!
Great service and excellent food, will def be back!! :) -

Pretty good drinks. The pitchers are a bit over-priced for what it is but still a decent option for a large group.
They make really good drinks, especially whiskey-related ones.
The food is really good - crunch wrap supreme, the spicy chicken sandwich are to die for. The other food items we got were decent too - maybe the wings could be better (crack wings sounded like they'd be spicy but they weren't). Fries are only okay. -

In my experience, Paper Plane has great potential, but is hampered by bartenders with an unwelcoming attitude. I guess I am more discerning in my 'old age', but I resent putting out money for a so-so quality classic Old Fashioned, and a bartender that acts like it's such a chore to serve us.
I have been here several times, because the location is great. I have always been at non-peak hours, as I leave the later hours to the younger crowd. But not sure if I will go back. I would rather pay more at the Fairmont, and enjoy a perfect cocktail from one of their outstanding, professional and friendly bartenders. -

Paper plane is a nice cool bar to hang out in downtown San Jose! It can get pretty crowded on Friday nights but we manged to find some seats! The drinks are made with care and are really good. The name of the drinks are cool too. Out of all the drinks we had, I liked Pisco Disco the best!!
Pros - Good drinks and suprisingly good food for a bar!!
Cons - Its loud in here and plus its expensive!!
Its almost 13-15$ for a drink, so be ready to be dropping the dollar bills!
But overall a good place! -

For people who know me, they would be absolutely surprised if I told them I fell in love with a bar, but Paper Plane is just too good to deny.
I am most definitely NOT a lover of alcohol or cocktails, but the delicious concoction at Paper Plane, known as the Milky Way, is downright delicious. If you like a strong alcohol taste, this drink is most certainly not for you. You can barely taste the alcohol over the creamy egg whites, the subtle sweetness of the condensed milk, and the fragrant scent of vanilla. I have a very low tolerance for alcohol, but if you kept serving me Milky Ways, I'm sure I'll be in trouble in no time. So good!
On top of that amazing cocktail, Paper Plane offers a wide variety of snacks and small bites that'll keep you full all night long. Their fries are fried to crispy perfection without the least bit of oil. But my new favorite is the house mac and cheese with jalapenos. It's delightfully spicy and creamy, without being over decadent. I honestly could finish that whole portion all by myself.
Bars have never been my thing, but if you invite me out to Paper Plane, there is no way I'm saying no. It's just that good!
